Ian Thomas Compliance Consultancy Ltd
Transport Operations, Digital and Analogue Tachograph Analysis covering Devon, Cornwall and West Somerset

I started my career in the transport industry well over 30 years ago as a driver. I gained my Certificate of professional competence in national road haulage operations in 1982. At the age of 26 and passing my LGV I went on to work for general hauliers for the next 17 years. In this time I had driven rigid, drawbars and articulated lorries travelling all over the UK. Also, in the latter years as a driver in general haulage I managed and expanded a timber haulage operation for a local haulier.
When my daughter was born in 2003 I wanted to be at home more and joined a manufacturer of agricultural machinery as their PDI/driver. I also became transport manager for a timber haulier and later a wood fuel company. At the present time I am the compliance consultant and adviser to companies of various sizes, including one national company. I am also the transport manager for two hauliers.
My interest outside of compliance consultancy include a small property letting portfolio, photography, DIY and cooking.
